Phil Miskovic serves as Mayor of the Town of Crewe, Virginia. His work combines over a decade of experience in elected, appointed, and classified positions in state and local government with doctoral-level research in public policy. He spent four years as the governor’s policy analyst for the Virginia Department of Emergency Management and now works in public health emergency management for the Commonwealth’s mental health agency. Mayor Phil holds a master’s degree in homeland security and emergency preparedness, graduate certificates in public health and local government management, and is completing a PhD in public administration and public affairs. He seeks to use this intersection of practice and theory to help marginalized populations–specifically the resource-strapped communities of rural Virginia.
